About Ginger Burrell

Ginger Burrell is an artist and teacher. She has her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from San Jose State University’s school of Art and Design. She teaches book arts at the Palo Alto Art Center and writes about book arts for arts-related journals.

Ginger’s primary medium is artist’s books. Her work includes photography, monotype and composite imagery and explores a range of topics from the personal, to the political, to the universal. She has exhibited nationally at galleries including the San Francisco Center for the Book, Abecedarian Gallery in Denver, Woman Made Gallery in Chicago and Bright Hill Press in New York.

Her artists’ books are included in special collections at Denison University, Doane Library; Indiana University, Purdue University at Indianapolis, Herron Art Library; San Diego State University Library; San Jose State University, King Library; Texas Tech University, Southwest Collections; University of California, Berkeley, Environmental Design Library; University of California at Davis; University of Denver, Penrose Library; University of Miami, Richter Library; University of Pittsburgh, Frick Fine Arts Library; and University of Washington Library.

Ginger lives in Morgan Hill, California, with her husband, Greg.
